Shak Lal- PE 11 Final Project

I think that this video accurately depicts my year in PE 11. At the start of the video, it shows all the athletic things I have done this year. Weightlifting, sports, and fitness. The next part shows nutrition, and healthy living. I showed my workout stacks, as well as fruits I love to eat. After the first part of my video comes how I was a leader, and an overall responsible student in general. In one clip, I give include Ali in my game of ping-pong, and in another clip, I pass the ball to Ali, instead of the athletic african-american Ziggy. Other clips include me cleaning up, and trying to motivate my classmates. The last part of my movie shows how I was injured for a portion of the year, and my "road to recovery" haha. I showed crutches, and then physio exercises as well. This year has beem somewhat of a struggle for me when it comes to injuries, but when I was physically able, I worked extrememly hard every day. I think I have improved since the first semester, because I tried to involve as many people as possible in games every class, I tried to motivate everyone, not just my friends, and that is why I think I still deserve my first semester mark, this semester. (96%)

What Do You Want?

My workout yesterday was Back and Biceps. I started out with lat pulldown. I did a warmup set, then completed 4 sets on 150lbs, with the last set being a drop set. Next I did the seated cable row, 4 sets on 130lbs. Then, I did bar pullbacks. 3 sets of 85 lbs. I then did deadlifts. 3 sets with 2 plates each side. I then curled 40's for 4 sets of 12 reps. I then did cable curls, and cable bar curls. 3 sets each with 100lbs and 50lbs. I then did preacher curls, 4 sets of 12 reps on 85lbs. My last two workouts were wide grip pullups and incline curls. I did 2 sets of 6 for pullups, and 4 sets of 35's for incline curls. I did this workout because it was a part of my workout routine. Yesterday was back/biceps for me, so I had to do it. My other days include chest/triceps, shoulders/traps, and legs/abs. I do this routine due to actual trainer information at my actual gym, and I also use websites such as "Bodybuilding.com". Obviously, I change my workouts up throughout the year so I don't hit a plateau. But from September to December, I do this routine. I believe that my goals are accurate to workouts because I am trying to get bigger and stronger, and I know that my choice of workouts are very good to complete that goal. My rep and set choices are also accurate when it comes to getting bigger. My workout yesterday was average. It was not my best because I am not used to working out at school, and the school also did not have some of the weights that I would normally use at my gym. But it was still a good workout.

PE mid point Self Reflection and Mark

I think this year so far I have been very responsible when it comes to attending class. I have never not brought gym strip without a valid reason. The only reason that I have missed a class is either for an appointment or for school soccer. When it comes to effort, I know when my leg is not hurting, I give 110%. Sometimes, my leg problem effects how I perfom in PE, and in other activities. I think my attitude has been good most of the time. Sometimes, especially in choice days, I don't involve some of the less athletic students. But at the end of the day, I am a pretty good leader in this class, just because of my effort levels and how I try to motivate the people around me.

Some of my fitness goals this year invole working out and my soccer. I plan to gain 10+ pounds before January 1st, 2013. I also plan to do well in club soccer. I want to win provincials again this year. I did not learn to much new stuff about my body, just because I have also been very physically active. I've always known my max. exertion levels, strength limits, etc.

I think that I deserve a mark of 95%. I feel like this is an accurate grade letter for right now, and I can improve it to around 98% by helping other students more.

Thank you,
Shak Lal

Doping In Sports

Doping is sports is very negative for many reasons, especially in fighting sports like UFC, boxing, and other fighting sports because these sports are all based on strength. It is cheating and always should be illegal. Perfomance boosters should be banned in all sports, they should be allowed only for medicinal purposes. In hockey, they improve your ability to skate, shoot and fight, which are the fundamentals for the game. The natural abilities of the athletes are masked due to the fact that some used performance boosters. That is how I feel about steroids and performance enhancing boosters.

Report Card- 6 weeks

The first six weeks of PE11 have been a lot of fun. My attendance has been almost perfect, except for the couple of days where I was very ill, and one Friday in which I had to go to a doctors appointment. Besides that, I still have attended every class. I always come prepared, as in I always have gym strip. My effort is always consistent, I work hard on every run and on every fitness day. Also, on every choice day, I always put in the same effort. I like to think that I respect everyone, everyday. I am a responsible PE student, and I am respectful of my surroundings. My areas of strength are beep tests, interval training and weight lifting. My area of weakness is stamina. Sometimes my stamina is inconsistent, because on some occasions I need to stop running long-distance to walk. My goal for the semester is to improve on such stamina influenced activities, such as the 25 minute run, and community run.

Excuses

I try to avoid making excuses as much as I can. Personally, I think that I own a great level if self motivation. During the 25-30 min. run, I managed to push out 8 laps after being at the gym before school, and fitness training for soccer the night before. My buggiest excuse is probably "I'm too sore", but my body and mind now tells me that I'm not even though I feel like it.
