What Do You Want?
My workout yesterday was Back and Biceps. I started out with lat pulldown. I did a warmup set, then completed 4 sets on 150lbs, with the last set being a drop set. Next I did the seated cable row, 4 sets on 130lbs. Then, I did bar pullbacks. 3 sets of 85 lbs. I then did deadlifts. 3 sets with 2 plates each side. I then curled 40's for 4 sets of 12 reps. I then did cable curls, and cable bar curls. 3 sets each with 100lbs and 50lbs. I then did preacher curls, 4 sets of 12 reps on 85lbs. My last two workouts were wide grip pullups and incline curls. I did 2 sets of 6 for pullups, and 4 sets of 35's for incline curls. I did this workout because it was a part of my workout routine. Yesterday was back/biceps for me, so I had to do it. My other days include chest/triceps, shoulders/traps, and legs/abs. I do this routine due to actual trainer information at my actual gym, and I also use websites such as "Bodybuilding.com". Obviously, I change my workouts up throughout the year so I don't hit a plateau. But from September to December, I do this routine. I believe that my goals are accurate to workouts because I am trying to get bigger and stronger, and I know that my choice of workouts are very good to complete that goal. My rep and set choices are also accurate when it comes to getting bigger. My workout yesterday was average. It was not my best because I am not used to working out at school, and the school also did not have some of the weights that I would normally use at my gym. But it was still a good workout.

ReplyDeleteI like the specific information... you are clearly engaging in learning about not only what to do but why. I am interested in your order of exercises? Did this come from your gym too? It is counter intuitive to what I was taught by my trainers and kinesiology classes. Big muscles to small is best and hardest reps to easiest is usually the pattern. So wide grip pull ups would near the beginning of your session and the preacher curls would come before the dumbbell curls. Also interested in the dead lift (hamstrings and back) thrown into your workout? Has someone taught you how to do them? Do you do straight leg or bent leg? Why? Great post.
